For our first nine months we were nourished through our cells in a liquid world. At the cellular level our breath is always fluid.
Each cell—alive and intelligent on its own—receives and releases nutrients as it slides and glides within the fluid medium of life in which it swims. Our cells form families and work together as tissues and structures.
Our cells call for the breath and our lungs respond. We find peaceful containment at the level of our cellular respiration. We are calm and lively—awake and restful in our cellular breathing.
This practice brings calm to the nervous system and introduces us to a direct experience of whole body breathing.
