Thank you Patty for giving me the inspiration to re-read/study Light on the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. Each time I do this another tiny door opens and I realize just how much I need to continue the practice of yoga.
Dear Patty, I am very appreciative reading this, and looking forward to continuing. I’ve been deeply drawn to return - from long riverine meanderings - to this fundament. Yoga, my life’s practice. Literally, 61 of these 65 years. Studying with Alan Goode for two of those decades, who teaches Asana and indeed all the 8 limbs through the lens of the Sutras, nourished the marrow of my Practice. Yes, it is indeed, a nexus around which a life breathes and constellates, permeating and in-forming all. Not matter the estuary of a lifetime’s exploration, endeavour, or distraction (adventures, lol). All love to you 🙏
Thank you Narelle! I took a moment to look up your teacher Alan Goode. He looks like an exceptionally wonderful person and teacher. You are blessed to have learned from him. And yes, I love your feeling the sutras in the marrow of your practice! I do love how all the elements inform your work!
Very well laid out! And a great reminder of implementing all limbs of yoga into your day to day, not just one. I have a six and two year old (and work full time), and I’ve been sad I haven’t been able to be consistent in my practice since my second was born. This has inspired me to get back into it :) So thank you.
Hi Kim, I hear you and am happy you feel inspired to return to practice. I completely understand about small children. I had them too. I ended up thinking that being a mother to small children was one of the most challenging practices of my life. Taking each moment (as much as I could manage!) as part of the practice of surrendering to what is, taking effective action, and doing the very best I could at noticing what I was doing as I did it was one of the most difficult practices of my life!
Maintaining consistent attention to life as it is when you are about to lose your mind from all the ridiculous things that go on constantly when caring for — and loving — those precious humans!!
I wish you so much goodness and success as you give them all you need to give them and also attend to reminding yourself - who you are - on all levels...and as often as you can. That is practice alright!
I firmly believe that parenting is definitely advanced practice for those of us who decide to do both!!!!
This is inspiring, Patty! Thank you
Thank you for reading and for commenting, Donnaldson. It's so satisfying to know you are here here and reading.
😘🙏🏼❤️
"How we live matters." So simple; so profound. And a radical call to action!
Thank you, Patty!

Absolutely, Darlene. In my current process with the sutras I am learning so much, yet again!
Iyengar’s Light on the Yoga Sutras keeps finding its way back to being my personal favorite.
In fact, the more I learn, the more respect I gain for Iyengar in every area.

Thank you! I appreciate the encouragement. What a beautiful way to look at parenting... through the eyes of yoga ❤️
