It is eclipse day—and even total eclipse day—in a large swath of the United States. Never having been in any way religious and honestly not all that spiritual for a life-long spiritual seeker, I have lately become excited about making the personally big events of ones life into ceremony. Like all of them, daily.
We need this. I need this. My children and grandchildren need this. I have been internally called (yes, I said that) to feel and celebrate the sacred moments that mark our lives.
When my friend and I get in the freezing ocean together in winter, when I actually make it to my chosen morning practices, when I light the candles for dinner. You get the picture. Whenever it feels important and like a moment to allow grace to flow.
Enter the eclipse! You won’t all see it today, but we all have the opportunity to share moments of grace and love. It is in our cells. It is in the bright prana of which we are made. It is in the love. Look for it. Love is genuinely in the space and the air we breathe. But it won’t necessarily be evident. Yes, one more time, we need to pay attention and take effective action to create the lives we want to live so that we can see, feel, touch the beauty and the grace.
Today, I will get in the ocean and then the big add!! Watch the eclipse from Crescent Beach, Maine with many others in our community and I know the love and grace that will be there, no matter what I think or feel at the time.
Let’s look for it together.
Yes, I was searching this morning for a reason why this is such a big event.."Love will keep us together"
Amen! Looking forward to working in a farm field and donning my goofy glasses to see whatever sights the sky holds for us here in western Mass. Ever grateful for yoga community in my life.
