Thoracic, Navel, and Pelvic Diaphragms Breathe!
These three beautiful diaphragms are connected. Continuous with one another, they even function as one. Their rhythmic movements bring depth, fluidity and comfort to every breath we take.
Learn to feel and follow their coordinated movement as we create the conditions for our breath to naturally deepen.
Inhaling — their waving motion draws our breath deep into the body. We are enlivened.
Exhaling — the diaphragms soften and release. We feel restful and our breath flows outward.
Find the soothing nourishment and ease offered by each and every breath you take. This is good stuff.
Thank you for being here. I am endlessly grateful to be able to share with you.
Thank you, Corie.
Yes, this is definitely a powerful addition to how we normally approach taking a deep breath.
All the usual three part breath, diaphragmatic emphasis is still there! But, the drawing of the breath ALL THE WAY DOWN the back body as the initiating action is a complete game changer!!
Thank you for taking the time to explore this
Hi Patty, I have a question!
So based on my knowledge, physiologically on an inhale the pelvic diaphragm moves downward as the pressure builds from the thoracic diaphragm expanding, and then on the exhale it gently lifts again. But am I right in digesting what you are saying is that energetically there is a coming together of these two diaphragms on the inhale, despite their physical movement of both actually descending? Or am I just utterly confused haha? Some clarity would be so appreciated, thank you!
